We have all heard horror stories about wisdom teeth removal and people who have supposedly suffered great pains as a result of this teeth removal surgery. My favorite is the one about the friend of a friend who has a cousin who had impacted wisdom teeth and went into the dentist or oral surgeon to get his wisdom teeth removed. This person went in for what was supposed to be a routine wisdom teeth removal surgery and he came out with poofy, soccer ball sized cheeks, and he spent the next three days with a mouthful of blood. When I was getting ready to get my wisdom teeth removed, this story literally horrified me. But it turns out that’s all it was – a story! Wisdom teeth removal does not actually go like that.

My wisdom teeth removal surgery went so smoothly, I never should have wasted all that time and energy listening to all those horror stories associated with impacted wisdom teeth and wisdom tooth removal. I went in to see my dentist/oral surgeon as planned. I laid down in my dentist chair and opened my mouth to start my wisdom teeth removal surgery. Next thing I know, my mom is driving me home and I get to spend the next day lying on the couch eating soups and milk shakes. My cheeks swelled up to about the size of a small gumball, and I never had any blood in my mouth after getting my wisdom teeth removed. By the end of that week, I was back to normal. Wisdom teeth removal is not scary at all!
