No-one Likes Going To The Dentist (Not Even The Dentist)

13.08.2012

You’re in a reclining chair with dental apparatus all around you and the smell of disinfectant in your nostrils. Your fingers gently grip the arm rests as you try not to look anxious. A buzzing drill is moving towards your open mouth. It’s often at this point that you make a promise to yourself: if the procedure is minimal and relatively pain-free you’ll definitely take proper care of your teeth and gums, starting tomorrow.

Why you’ll never be able to keep your promise:

It’s not your fault! No matter how well you believe you’ve brushed, your mouth will remain dirty. This is because you probably brushed JUST THE ENAMEL. The enamel, your teeth, comprise a mere 10% of your mouth. What about cleaning the cheeks, the gums, the roof and floor of the mouth as well as the surface of the tongue? Just imagine what you’d smell like if you washed only 10% of your body in the shower or 10% of your face?

How do you stop your teeth, gums and overall health from deteriorating? ELIMINATE THE PLAQUE

Plaque is the sticky, white substance that forms on teeth, between them and in the area between the gums and teeth, called the sulcus. Plaque is the cause of unhealthy gums. Unknown to most people is that fact that the plaque on your teeth is the same plaque in your arteries. Think about that for a moment and the inevitable consequences. Plaque causes diabetes, cardiovascular conditions and cancer.

If you don’t brush and floss properly you won’t remove plaque from your teeth. Brushing and flossing merely pushes plaque to a different part of the mouth and even under the gumline. There is however hope in a simple technique that does removes plaque. This is the key to total oral health for a lifetime.

Is This Another Brand New Solution? No…..

– a tried & tested technique from the 1960’s that was almost lost forever
– developed by a gum specialist (a periodontist) based on a traditional technique
– known as ‘Blotting Brushes: Weapons of Plaque Destruction‘.

I know they work. I’m 61, have all my own teeth and haven’t had a filling for years!

Born and brought up in Asia, Graeme was intrigued by the way in which different Asian cultures approach their health and wellbeing. He studied aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine and together with his wife Phylipa, now runs ToothWizards, an oral health initiative to help people achieve self-sufficiency in dental health.
