Can TMJ Health Problems Be Resolved By Vitamin Supplements?

21.01.2012

With modern day man in the 21st century, we have an incredible variety of health aids that may help us with each area of our health. This is definitely true in the dentistry field and for those who suffer with certain dental health infirmities like bruxism and TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder). Pharmaceutical drugs can help with serious health Problems but so can medically active herbs and medicinal spices. What about nutrition supplements, though?

Can nutritional supplements really help with TMJ or bruxism? That is an interesting question. An easy „yes“ or „no“ answer is simply not adequate for there are too many variables to hand. Yes, they can be helpful and may be included as a part of a health regime. The answer would be no, though, in that they will not directly impact a TMJ or bruxism problem.

Clear-cut symptoms like jaw clicking, earaches, headaches, tingling down the shoulder, jaw edema and mis-alignment of the jaw cannot be overwhelmed by good vitamin supplements.

Good vitamin supplementation is useful and can help one’s live out in virtually every area. Additions, though, by themselves cannot help

So , what's the cure? Or, is there not a cure? There could be something that helps, something that helps a lot. A good guard for grinding teeth can help resolve bruxism, crepitus (jaw clicking) as well as protect the teeth. They are readily available, too. This is generally a good thing.

Getting back to augmentation, it is awesome that some people are convinced that somehow utilizing vitamins will correct a health concern like jaw popping. Essentially, jaw clicking is a health problem that may be a mis-alignment issue with the jawbone as it connects to the skull. Vitamins won't resolve that.

Please do NOT misunderstand — I think extremely highly of good, quality vitamins — especially pharmaceutical grade quality vitamins, but they don't seem to be a panacea or a cure all. And definitely not with tooth problems like jaw popping or crepitus.
